That's more like it.
My name is Nate McQueen. (Let the 'ka-chows' commence) I go by N.T. because I thought it would make me sound more like a serious artist. However, when people started saying my author name, it sounded like "Auntie." So that didn't work out. I am a wanna-be writer on the Big Island of Hawai'i. I've written and published two obscure novels that dozens (OK, maybe "a" dozen) people have read, but I still am proud of them because writing is hard. I earned an MA in Fiction from CSU-Sacramento and even obtained a teaching credential which was like flushing $20,000 down the toilet. A few publications have published my writing though I think an intern accidentally passed them through the acceptance process and were eventually fired. It may be the same intern working their way around. Needless to say, I am grateful for that intern. I have a passion for other countries which has sent me to do humanitarian work through non-profits in Cambodia, Mexico and Haiti and I continue to seek opportunities (my wallet willing) to make a difference wherever they may arise. Though originally from Sacramento, California, I currently live with my wife and three daughters on the Big Island and teach college writing at Hawai'i Community College to mostly students who would rather be eating gravel and listening to Yoko Ono. In fact, I've been doing this since 2015. Aside from writing, my pastimes include fishing with little success and maximum frustration, watching and trying to play basketball before my body attempts a mutiny , and spending time with my family because they are the ones who make my life fulfilled and inspire me to be a better man. |
